My luck but I was too old to collect ano or play with these when I was a kid. I was lucky to get the models off the display wall down at "Fred Jones Ford" at the end of the model year. Daddy was drinking buddys with all the salesmen down there.
He died in '61 when I was 15. I also had a few of the original AMT models kits that I had built, but by then I had outgrown them. (Girls you know) So when we moved my mother gave all my collection to my second cousin on daddys side of the family and he gave them to his kids to play with and they destroyed them. She told me later that she didn't think I wanted them anymore. It was about a year before I discoverd that they were not at the new house. Man was I pissed when I found out. I had the Ford factory models of the '54 ford with the first V-8 and best of all the '55, '56 & '57 t-bird and others that are worth a ton nowadays.
