The city of Scottsdale did an indepth study last year. BJ generated approximately $72 Million in economic activity for the City through hotels, fees, etc. They did the study because Craig Jackson is considering moving the auction. There was an article in the paper this week. He said he had to turn away about 400 cars because they did not have enough space to park them all.

He is also tired of the parking woes for the attendees. They estimate 60,000 will attend the auction this year. That alone is at least $1.8M in gate revenue.
He is looking at Glendale or one of the Indian reservations that is close to Phoenix as alternatives. Should be interesting to see what Scottsdale will do to keep him around.
