Default Re: 737 Driver-Mark Donnally"s 1969 L88 Corvette....

Thanks to all for the kind comments regarding my L88. I just noticed the Subway sandwich wrapper under the car in one of the shots. This is undoubtedly one of the most special cars I've ever owned. Most of the points lost during judging were for over restoration, too nice, too glossy, etc. It was a load of fun to PV the car last spring in CLT. I definitely exceeded the posted speed limits a time or two (in second gear).

I just sold it a couple of days ago to a collector in Indiana. After having it for eight years, I would expect to have sellers remorse at some point. I did get a bunch of big green daddyo's for it and used some of the proceeds to buy a very nice 69 L78 SS Chevelle with only 13,855 original miles. It retains all the original (born with) components with the exception of tires, battery, etc. and is in the sequence to be restored by the Super Car Workshop in Latrobe, PA. I also have my eye on a very low mile 69 L88 coupe that I hope to get at some point.

I surely do enjoy this website with the available knowledge regarding Camaroes, Chevelles and Novas among others.

Take care,

Mark
