Re: Supercar showcase at Fall Vettefest
I am working on two hours sleep, so bear with me, but here goes.
First of all, my apoligys to Rich for his car not getting parked in the sYc area. A really well done car, which is evident by the fact that Rich took home one of the coveted Top Gun awards, along with Steve Sandlin. This makes 3 for the sYc in 2 years, Rich & Steve, 2004, and Frank A. 2003.
2005 ????
Here is how I think it went.
Yenko Sportscar Club, special club participation award
Tom C.- '69 Yenko Nova, Gold Spinner
John P.-'69 Douglass/Yenko Camaro, Gold Spinner
Glen Hanson-'69 COPO Camaro, not-judged (GS quality)
Frank M.-'70 Yenko Nova, Blue/Gold Bow Tie Boulevard
Rich G.- '69 Yenko Camaro, Top Gun & Gold Spinner
Chad B.-'69 Yenko Chevelle, not-judged (GS quality)
Steve Sandlin, '68 Chevelle, DH conversion, not judged
Steve Sandlin- 2004 HRSS, Blue/Gold Bow Tie Boulevard
Steve Sandlin- 1957 Belair conver., Top Gun & Gold Spinner
Frank M., SR- '01 Camaro, Blue/Gold Bow Tie Boulevard
Frank and Caleb A.- '69 COPO Camaro, Gold Spinner(999 pts.)
Now to the women folk.
Ginny Hasset, 1994(?) Camaro, Blue/Gold Bow Tie Boulevard
Helen & Nancy Gibb, '02 ZL-1 Camaro, Blue/Gold Bow Tie Boulevard
And, I know there were a few other folks who hang out here who had cars there. Hopefully they will let us know how they did.
Special thanks to Rick (Mr70) for the dealership display and Dave (mrrec) for the turntable. And to Kenny, Gus, Darren and the other fine folks who were there to lend a hand when needed.
Even though there were less supercars attending this year, the public, and the judges as well, were really impressed with the sYc display, especially the qaulity. And speaking of judges, top notch. I do not envy their job. The gentleman who judged my Nova was a former NCRS judge, who was very knowledgeable, and very courteous.
