I remember sitting in my high school library on rainy days and reading Hot Rod with my buds. I remember reading the ad for the '77 Z/28 and seeing the asterisk that said: "4-speed transmission not available in California", which was where I lived. That, plus the Z's WEAK horsepower rating was very depressing to us 14-year old car nuts.
