Default Re: found a Yenko Chevelle...please help

First of all I would like to thank ya'll for responding. Earlier today I went and looked at what I thought was gonna be a LeMans Blue 1969 Yenko Chevelle...with the copo.com list of VIN's in hand. From a distance the car looked great and like all of the Yenko Chevelles I've seen on the net. When I looked closer I noticed there was a little bit of rust coming through the paint, the engine bay needed to be cleaned up a little, and that the sYc "stickers" on the headrests were coming off. Other than that the car seemed fine, that was until I checked the VIN. The VIN on the car was 398582. I searched through my list and, to my disappointment, couldn't find a match. You can see a picture of the car at http://www.nashvillepowersportauctio...entauction.cfm . What irritates me about all this, is not that I ran across a clone, but that these people are advertising this car as the real deal. I wasn't able to talk to anyone there about the car because they were "busy" and plus they didn't seem like they would know anything at all about the car. With all this said, I have another question. Where can I find the casting numbers on the 427 engine block, the intake manifold, and how do the casting numbers work? Once again, I thank ya'll very very much.
