A dear friend and mentor who passed away several years ago Bill Scott was part of the Penske race team. He was the chief mechanic on the grand sport corvette project for Penske. He was quite innovative a incorporated several of his ideas into the corvette. Well he also had an opportunity to purchase that car for even less. He kept some of the components off the car as it change its configuration from race to race. Yes he could have kicked himself for not purchasing it. I lived in Newtown Sq. Pa where the Penske race shop was and remeber the Grandsport flying down Rt252 crossing the Springton resivoir...what an awesome site and sound. You just mentioning the Grandsport brought up some great memories Scottie.
