Soft by no means! Pro Teams loves those 1967 Big Block Tri-Power cars. They have some basket case cars represented as originals and I would put money on it they get away with murder 95% of the time. I have heard too many horror stories that unfold in the garages of Pro-Team Corvettes.
I was looking at a 1966 Convertible 427/390 HP Vette in Mosport green on black a while ago and they said it has the ORIGINAL MOTOR but the numbers did not even match. The VIN plate numbers and the engine pad did not match. I could have understood if they called the car a "#'s car" even if the motor was not original (because that "numbers matching" term gets abused more than anything these days) but it threw me that they called the motor an original. It was absolutely an original motor -- but sure as hell not to that Corvette.
And isn't it ironic that EVERY Mid-Year Corvette they have magically has the original spare and jack?
