Straight from the horse's mouth...
"<font color="blue">The picture you have, from Car Craft Magazine, was taken at the Winternationals, in 1973. The car was a 350/ 295 hp, with a PG trans. Joe Santangelo and myself, drove the car alternately in 1972. I entered at Pomona, but ironically, I wasn't driving it in that photo. I was at the motel, helping Joe repair the engine for his SS/PA Chevelle wagon. We left the car at tech with Skip Asay, of N.J. , and told him to make the first time trial, if we didn't get there on time. Sure enough, he did! That kinda thing would get you banned for life, nowadays. I did manage to win the class trophy that year, but eliminations were rained out and postponed for another week and we had to leave to get back home to Connecticut. Later on, we transfered the driveline to a 67 Camaro convertible, to run SS/KA, and were able to set the National record with that combo.
We sold the Chevy II body to a local racer, who painted it black and ran M/P with it. I don't know what happened to it from there. Mark"</font>
