...ahhh yes, had two run-ins with those camel spiders while there... woke up one morning with one crawling up the side of my tent just 12 inches above my head. Not a good way to wake up.
The next episode was another "side of the tent" sighting, but not as close. We tried to kill the second one but quickly realized why they're such survivors out there in the desert. We knocked it to the ground, then stomped several times on top of it with our combat boots before we could kill it. They have a hard shell and can also run fast!, so stomp on them "good" the first time, or you're toast! They aren't actually spiders, but are in the scorpion family. They won't kill you, but will make you wish you were dead if stung by one. I don't miss those nasty things one bit!
