A "REAL" magnesium wheel will form what looks like chrosion and white specs will form all over them till they turn totally white. The best way to preserve them is to spray them with WD-40 and wipe them down. You will have to do that 3 or 4 times a year to keep them looking nice and gray.

Yours are probably a blend of Alum and Mag and will not oxidize. You can tell by how light they are. I have a 17" wide wheel for the back of my Can Am car that weigh's 4lbs. This stuff is "light" but it will burn "HOT" if exposed to fire.
