Default Re: 11D COPO Chevelle???

This guy just won't give up. Here is the latest info that he added to the auction.
James

"Well I am back from overseas, and I was able to talk with Greg Long at D.P.E. (Durability Plus Engines), and yes he said he will authenticate this car, and has verified in writing that the VIN is on the list. He believes off hand that this was the either the 12,13, or 14th COPO made, and probably was a factory prototype prior to being sold, although that's a guess. To date though this is the earliest COPO 427 Chevelle found, we don't know if the others still exist. Serious bidders may call him as he has given me permission to post his number 260-665-8877. Also he will be able to help the successful bidder to refit the car to it's original state, and parts you have to replace will at least pay for a good percentage of the refit. The painting of the car back to gold and the bench seat and trim conversion will probably cost the most. But it's a worth while investment for a guy who wants to store and rarely drive this highly sought after collectable.

THere have been MANY people who have asked for his number to authenticate their cars, please be patient and nice to him, as honestly I don't think there is a lot of money into this process considering the time that has to be spent locating the corresponding records amongst the stacks of paperwork. Most of the cars have been authenticated so theres no real advantage to having all the files organized for the few that haven't from a business perspective. Understandably some of the other guys who do this are expert hobbiest, and do it for the love of the cars, Greg is a business man, and time is money so please be aware of this if you ask him to help you. Thanks for that"
