Default Re: BELMONT What they ordered for 1969

There was a used car lot in Vancouver at Broadway and Fraser named Belmont Motors. They were heavily into high performance cars, and had an incredible selection of almost new Chevrolet performance cars. These things would come in by car carrier on a regular basis. I lived close by and remember being there one day as they unloaded 4 427 69 Biscaynes. I always wondered where they got their stuff, but now I'm thinking that they were affiliated with Belmont in Ontario.
I was very young at the time and drove my car in there to see about trading into something faster. A salesman had approached me at a gas station and told me they wanted my car. Very flattering. So I drove in and boy were they ever high pressure. They offered me almost nothing for my car and wanted huge money for their car. I tried to escape but they had my keys and had blocked me in. It took almost 2 hours to get away from them after threatening to call the police. Needless to say I never went back. Even today, I only go to car lots after they're closed to look at the inventory. You might say I'm scarred for life.
