Buyer Beware!
A freind of mine recently bought a 69 RS/SS that was represented as a numbers matching real SS Daytona Yellow with rare original code 714 Yellow houndstooth interior. He knows nothing about these cars and after a couple of people told him he had gotten shafted he called me to look the car over. In my oppinion the car was the worst fake I have seen in a long time. The car was not numbers matching, it had none of the maditory SS equpement, It was a front drum brake car with a 10 bolt rear end, Mono leaf springs and 10 bolt spring/shock plates, no dual exhaust hanger plate and no fuel return line. After I found that the VIN had at sometime in its life been changed from its originally assigned VIN under the cowl vent panel I told him to take the car back. I had suspected the cowl tag had been changed not just because of the rare collor but because all of the yellow interior parts exept the reproduction seat covers were from a white car and had peen painted yellow. I could go on and on about this car but I will end my post here. He got his money back but I have since noticed this car relisted with the same description as before. The next person might not be so lucky!
