Most software that can save a jpg file has an option to set the compression amount of the file. Sometimes this looks like a slider with picture quality settings from 1 to 10. Try a setting of five. If you use Microsoft photo editor, which is free with MS Office, you would click on save as, then pick JPG from the file types, then click on the more button. That lets you adjust the quality. If this does not help, let me know what software you are using, and I will see if I can get better directions for you.
