I have cleaned hundreds of belts for resale.Heres what I have found to work the best.Get a bucket (5 gal) add a strong solution of simple green and fill it up with HOT water and forget about it for a day.Empty the bucket the next day,all the scum will seperate from the belts.Soak them again.Rinse them in cold water and brush them with a scrub brush inside your wash tub to remove anything left.Shouln't be much.Hang them out to line dry.The last thing to do is to iron them flat (remove wrinkles).Use a old board,not broad,so you don't PO the Misses.If they need a recolor Rit works fine for black.I have also used a light mist of spray dye to add more color to a stubborn area.Several light coats work fine,no build up on the webbing and they remain soft.I have used Oxyclean,it works fine as well.Now is also a great time to dissasemble the buckle to clean and detail it.Deluxe are a little harder to take apart,be paitient.After a little cleaning everything works and slides eaiser.......
