Re: Introduction is in order
I will see if I can post a couple of pictures in the near future, but I can give you some specifics that every H/O in '69 had.
1. The engine was a 455 Olds, with "high flow" heads, exhaust manifolds, Q-jet, and a special curve distributor. The engine was rated at 380 hp and 500 lb/ft of torque.
2. Every one had a special built Turbo 400 trans, 'OH' code, with a Hurst Dual Gate making the shifts.
3. All were painted Cameo White and Firefrost Gold. The cars came off the line and show on the body tags as being all white units. The stripes, hood scoop and rear wing were all added on at Demmer Engineering. All had black bucket seat interiors with Gold painted on the headrest.
4. All came out with 15" X 7" SSII wheels. These were chrome plated rims and had G60-15 Polyglas GT mounted up. This car along with the Boss 429 were the only ones to come with that size tire for that year.
5.Standard axle ratios were 3.42 and 3.91. When a/c was ordered up, 3.23 gears were installed. All units were posi.
Total numbers for the production run were 906 Holiday coupes with 3 convertables made. 1 of the convertables was destroyed in '69, 1 is somewhere in California sitting under a tree rotting away, and 1 is in my friends garage.
