SS427 (Z24's) are rare but 4-speed 12 bolts are actually quite common. I have 2 of the '67's as well as 68 and 69. I would be interested in the cowl tag info as there is a special code on there for the Z24 option. I do not need the Fischer body number if you are concerned about disclosing that but all other info is needed off the tag. What plant and build date are on the car as well. They are both on the tag.

Tom is right, these are horribly expensive to restore and NOS rocker moldings can cost as much as $2500, hoods with the insert as much as $3000 and SS427 trunk trim as high as $600 and that is just the beginning. Mine is on the back burner as I have more important things to do right now.

I would like to know more about your friends car as just like the LS-6 Chevelles, I have a pretty extensive file on the SS427 Impalas. Not to wear it out but these can can also be seen on www.impalass427.com . My Black '68 SS427 is on that site as well in case you need to see what the barges looked like back then.
