When I was fresh out of grad school and living in Houston, Texas in the mid-80's, I attended a Kruse auction at the Astro Arena (adjacent to the Astrodome). I was sitting in the stands when I heard what was easily the meanest sounding street car I've heard before or since. Out onto the auction floor rolls the aforementioned Camaro. I distinctly remember the auctioneer going over the car's rich-kid-from-Mexico heritage. I have no idea if the car sold or what it was bid up to. It was absolutely stunning and I'm sure I had a grin from ear to ear.
I'd be interested to know who the seller was and if it sold, who the buyer was and what the price was. It made a heck of an impression on me that's for sure. I'm glad to see it's still around and in great shape.
