General Motors has abandoned the rear-wheel drive muscle car segment since it ended the production of its Camaro and Firebird cars this past summer and closed the Quebec plant that built them. "We have gotten out of the muscle car sports segment, if you want to call it that, in terms of the rear-wheel drive thing," said Richard James, a spokesman for General Motors Corp. of Canada. "But there is some limited demand for it in that our Cadillacs are all going to go back to rear-wheel drive."
