Default Re: Long lost supercars.........

you would be amazed at the iron thats still out there.
The problem is this. If you are a gearhead its hard to think like a non gearhead. example I couldn't tell you jack diddly about Tv or hollywood stars I don't know nothing about sports or a majority of current events. But if you ask me about article such and such in the latest car craft magazine i can resite it like religion. If you ask me whats in such in such car lot or wrecking yard I'll know. Why because i'm your typical anti social gearhead type which leads me to my answer "regular" non gearhead people don't stay hip to car gossup or prices. When you go to country and buy a car from a farmer or a local the price is usually something you would have paid in 85. They have there prices still stuck in the 80s when they were in the game. Alot of times they won't sell em why? they don't have to they have no city code enforcement no citations will be given if not tarped or hidden from view. I can no BS take you to a house where in the garage is a 1958 2-4 348 chevy they won't even talk of selling it car has sat for over 20 yrs.
I have found a 440 dart 1968 not for sale a 1966 chevy II super sport 327 4 speed car in his backyard complete not for sale. I cannot even remember all the iron I have seen just in The Dallas area of Texas I even know where a Cameo truck is with weeds as tall as truck guess what not for sale. I just offered a guy a hefty offer for his 1964 SS impala complete car sitting for yrs. Not for sale. I have a friend who has a 1969 rs camaro in his shop has not been on road since 1972 all original except headers added not for sale. Whats killing the seen is the lack of affordable Malibu and regular Camaro project cars. Kids are left with no alternative but to buy a late model car. In north Texas there is a field full of early iron the guy has a 1972 GS455 complete car won't even talk about selling it. He has a willys coupe several chevelles novas camaros and trucks galore all parked in a field He has a barn full of big blocks not for sale, No telling what engines are in there.
once again he is out in the middle of nowhere and doesn't have any ordinances to be concerned with he is just sitting on em.
