Default Re: Motion Performance Firebirds

Thanks folks and 55 Chevy for posting the pictures. Any articles on these. The reason I ask is because I was the second owner of a 74 Motion modified firebird and sold it to someone in NY in late 70's. I am trying to find him and see if I can buy it back. I remember giving him an article about the car and a bill of sale from Motion. I am looking for the article. The car was very unusual. It was ordered by someone who was going to "race the car".

This is what I recall. 74 Firebird, Pontiac red (more orangish) color, glass nose ( thick not flimsy) and L88 style hood colored white in the middle. No motion stripes. Car was gutted, had back seat, no headliner, doors werr gutted but windows worked. Dash had 3 or 4 sun guages and a big Moroso mechanical tach on the dash ( noisy I remember). 4 point bolt on roll bar. Engine" 454 LS7, 12.5 comp, not sure of cam ( was told by the original owner that it was a ZL1 cam), square port heads, Tarantula manifild, 850 Holley DP, headers with really loud mufflers (I think they called them Cherry something or another). Turbo 400, 12 bolt with 488 gears, and lakewood slapper bars.

Car was a beast, I took it to the track once with a few friends ( it had the tow tabs in the front) with 10 or 11 inch slicks tested it. Being novices we did not really set up anything, just did a burnout and staged, floored it, spun the tires out a good 15-20 feet and ran 11;27 (that I remember). I am trying to locate the car. i thought it was in the neighborhood but it is not.

Question from you experts. How rare is this car and what would it sell for in #1, #2, #3 condition.

Thanks

Alex
