Re: Dealer Specific Forums: good or bad?
Personally, I prefer it the old way. Considering the amount of activity lately, it seems overly redundant to have these specific categories. I've learned a ton and found great information about cars that I wouldn't have otherwise gone out of my way to read about. Also, input on a given topic may come from sometimes obscure sources (i.e. an enthusiast who focusses mainly on Yenko's may have some vital or somewhat obscure info that they may be prompted to contribute in a category (like Motion) that they would not now generally frequent). My point being that this is a somewhat diverse community which shares information openly and I would hate to see it potentially limited. I don't think that there's anything inherently wrong w/ adding these sub-groups. But, for example, I personally read the 'general discussion' daily whereas I only read the 'tech questions' a couple times a week. Adding further categories may hinder getting an important question answered in a timely manner.
Just my $.02
