X44 means the car was built without style trim group. X44 has nothing to do with COPO 9560, 9561 or 9737. Many of those cars happened to be built without style trim group and thus have that code on their tag. Thousands of 6 cylinder or base 8 cylinder Camaros also had X44 tags.

The only way to be certain of your car's original build configuration would be to locate Chevrolet documentation: protect-o-plate, window label, shipper's copy, dealer invoice.

If the car was sold new in Canada the zone office there can provide information for a small fee. If it wasn't, nobody can say with any certainty how it was built.

All COPOs had the ducted hood, power front disc brakes, dual exhaust and special "BE" 12-bolt rear axle. Most of this was also available on other Camaro models. Radiators, heaters and BE axles can easily be retrofitted.
