I know Alan doesn't monitor this board, but I'll try to help.
The usage of the Fisher codes stopped in 67.
I think the code you are referring to is what is called the work order. It's a # like E123. It appears that the assembly plants that had multiple car lines used this code as an aid to schedule the cars.
