The COPO 9719 package included the L78 engine with suffix code IY (which per the Tonawanda work order for COPO 9719 specified to build a full size car L78 except with Z16 exhaust manifolds and Z16 oil pan).

Tonawanda records indicate that only one (1) IY coded engine was ever assembled. So the other car must have had its 396 installed some time after it left the factory.

You can see in the pictures though that it is a 1965 model year block, with the two fangs between the timing cover and intake. Also a 1965 model year Holley with the "peanut" bowls. So must have been done early on.
