I started working on Saturday checking in auction cars, as usual. This check in process has changed over the years. What began as verifying the VIN and verifying major options has now morphed into a very high level description verification. For instance, if the description includes "has a 6.0 LS ", we only verify there is an LS under the hood. Someone else verifies the 6.0 claim after us. FYI, in many cases, they are 5.3's or 4.8's. Anyway, tire and wheel sizes are verified if they are included in the description. We do our best to verify at least the existence of all upgrades and claims. There are teams of authorities that do a deeper dive, i.e. matching numbers, original drivetrain, and so on. So I'm a bit busier as it takes us longer to process each vehicle.
Since it has been very wet for the valley, thankfully the check in lanes have been inside. Today Scottsdale received several flooding downpours. We will likely move the lane outside on Tuesday.
