Thanks for the kind wishes everyone. Yes, we finally tied the knot after 18 years! It was a fantastic weekend with a very small wedding with some close friends and family in attendance on Friday, followed by a much bigger reception party on Saturday. We will now be headed for the cabin for a week coming up. Oh, and about that cabin.......

We go to a cabin twice a year and last year I wanted a VERY special place to give her the ring. After looking for 3 months I finally found a very large private cabin on a private penninsula on an equally large private lake near Hayward, WI. We decided to stop half way in Madison, WI, take the dogs and get a hotel room to rest up and continue the next day. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was losing anti-freeze and diagnosed it as a blown head gasket. Because I was towing a boat, NO ONE would rent me a vehicle with a hitch other than a cargo van which I would not put the dogs in as there was no access to the cab nor lights.

I finally gave up and because our whole relationship has been dictated by fate, I decided I would call a roll back driver back home from Springfield, IL and have him come get the truck and boat (an 8 hour drive for him, and we would rent a car and follow him back home. The ring would stay in its box until another time. I told the tow company owner of my situation and that I was going to propose but that it was not to be. This man showed up 6 hours later with their rollback and his personal F350 4x4 and handed me the keys, told me to have a great week and proposal and jokingly stated that he wanted to be invited to the wedding which he was! Fate struck again and here we are. There are still some very good people in this world!

We will now be heading back to this same cabin with the pups for a week of chilling and enjoying us as a family.

Sorry for all the photos but it tells the story. Thank you all again for your well wished.
