I like the drivetrain. The 5.3 / 8 speed auto has been a good unit. The AFM issues are well documented (media and internet hype) but have not see a hint of it. I've had the 6.2 previously as well, and have no complaints.
For years I have had Tracey in a full size GM (SUV or truck) and I still like the unit(s). Hope that helps shed a bit of light on your question.
