Default Birthday Boy with patina

This time 59 years ago this Cameo Ivory on Red ‘66 GTO rolled out of the Fremont plant in California.
I’ve owned it for 34 years.

It’s amazing this rare car (3x2 / Auto) still retains everything it was built with.
Original paint, interior and factory powertrain.

Of the 1759 “YR” built this year most have been altered to a 4 speed and mechanical linkage.
It was a common practice in the late 60’s to toss all that complicated Vacuum linkage that came on these cars.
Not only complex, but extremely dangerous to the unexperienced. I know firsthand.

He doesn’t get out much so allow me to share.
