The sperm whale is the largest predator on earth, with the ability to dive to depths of up to 3,000 meters and hold its breath for up to 90 minutes. It also has the largest brain of any animal, and its head contains a special organ called the spermaceti organ that produces a waxy oil that it uses to create loud clicks and whistles. These sounds bounce off objects, allowing the sperm whale to “see” in the ocean’s dark depths and communicate with other whales.
