I look at how all this relates to our love for gas/ diesel powered machines and most important, the ability for our children and grand children to appreciate such.
With all significant societal changes they begin with a small group of people with possibly good intentions. From there it gains momentum as the benefits are present even at a minor level and the there are contrarian points of view and then it is politicized. At some point there has to be an intervention of sorts, meaning we need balance and in todays world, data to determine next steps. If you force it on society you will have unintended consequences. I think those of us on this site are emotionally triggered when we here “mandate”.
There is a lot of things/data to come in before the 2035 mandate which I believe will change many views. I’m not suggesting we sit back and do nothing, but I do believe many of these “mandates” burn themselves out. Mean while let’s take our grandkids for a ride in our loud smelly vehicles.
