Right you are. I am sure the assembly plant could have had some orange boots used in assembly if there was a shortage... Could have happened.
This thread is about OP's wires tho...and the fact that your wires do not have 7MM stamped on them, indicates that they are a set of correct original 1973 wires.
No "apples or oranges" were harmed in the making of this reply.
