The term "Sharpshooter" dates back almost 150 years. It was dirived from this rifle: 1874 Sharps 44-90 Caliber Buffalo Rifle. In a contest - the Creedmoor Record, it was the only rifle that allowed Sharps Shooters to hit a target 19 out of 20 times at 800 yards.
