The air scoop on the 1967 Shelby hood was wider and more smoothly integrated into the hood than in years before. Two types of hoods were used in 1967 production: earlier cars had fiberglass-skinned hoods bonded to metal Ford Mustang frames, while later cars had all-fiberglass hoods. Both hoods were visually identical. Louvers were originally planned for air conditioned cars, although hoods with them were ultimately random.
