I know about the mods to the tunnel, since my 69 Z11 pace car had a Ram-4 inline shifter and I hack-sawed the hell out of the side of the tunnel to make that sucker fit.

Steve, my car is also a big block car and I didn't have to cut mine that much either. The big block first gen Camaros had the engine and transmission offset to the right more than the small block cars, which gives more room for the shifter.
