This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible is equipped with the Z11 Indy Sport package, which added special bodywork and trim as featured on the Camaro pace cars used at the 1969 running of the Indianapolis 500. A refurbishment was started by a previous owner in California, with the project including a partial repaint, an interior refresh, and a teardown of the 350ci V8. The seller acquired the car in 2009 and commissioned a complete exterior repaint in Dover White, a rebuild of the engine, and more as described below. A fluid service has been performed in preparation for the sale along with the installation of a new transmission pan gasket and new tires. This Z11 Camaro is now offered at no reserve with a service history file, spare parts, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.

Cosmetics specific to the Camaro Indy Sport Convertible option included unique paint, graphics, front and rear spoilers, and a cowl induction hood as featured on the pace cars used at Indy. The seller notes that this example received repairs to both quarter panels prior to repaint in Dover White with orange stripes, which was completed by Famous Auto Repair of Englewood, Colorado in 2013. A paint correction and detailing were completed in May 2020 in preparation for the sale.

Factory 15″ Rally wheels wear BFGoodrich raised white letter tires that were recently fitted. The white soft top is shown in the raised and lowered positions in the gallery below.

The interior features replacement orange houndstooth fabric over the front buckets and rear bench, with color-coordinated door panels and contrasting black trim. Factory features include power steering, a center console with special instrumentation, and an AM radio. Lap belts are provided for the front and rear occupants.

Approximately 94k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, 14k of which have been added by the seller over nine years of ownership. Per the seller, the radio intermittently blows a fuse, and the windshield washer motor and headlight doors are inoperative.

The 350ci V8 was in a disassembled state at the time of the seller’s purchase, and was subsequently cleaned, painted, and reassembled. Updates completed at that time included a rebuild of the Edelbrock carburetor and the installation of JMP Performance cylinder heads and a high-lift camshaft. The fluids have been changed in preparation for the sale, and the transmission pan gasket has also been replaced.

Power is sent rearward via a three-speed Turbo 350 automatic transmission. Rust proofing and undercoating were applied to the underside during the refurbishment. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.

The cowl tag indicates that the car was built at the Norwood, Ohio assembly plant and was originally finished in Dover White (50) over orange houndstooth (720). The Z11 code indicates that the car was optioned with the Indy Pace Car trim package.

A binder with service and refurbishment records dating back to 2011 is included in the sale.
