Most fine fragrances are expensive, but Chanel’s N°5 Parfum Grand Extrait is on another level with a price tag of $2,150 for 7.6 fluid ounces. What makes this perfume so pricey is actually the bottle, which is hand-sealed by baudruchage, a process that involves covering the neck of the bottle with a fine membrane, which is held in place by a strand of pearl-cotton thread and then sealed with a wax stamp.
