The reproduction battery tops are not the same as originals(they take a 30% deduct in NCRS), they show divisions between the cells in the actual molded plastic.

If one of the holes is cracked then just gut the battery and put a braille inside of it...

I had considered just gutting mine before putting acid in it, but then numerous people said I should just use the battery until it stops working then gut it and put a braille inside of it... so it's now been working great for over a year.
