A little more to the engine story…

First off, I’d really like to thank Rocky for providing the info here and connecting all the parties. They were wonderful to work with which resulted in new friendships. He made this whole encounter possible.

This L72 engine had its final run on the dyno yesterday and is superb. Strong and smooth, roughly 450 ponies… Should be a fun one to play with. I'd post a short video of it but don't think an MP4 clip can be attached?

I’ve been casually searching for an era correct block with this date code for quite some time and most had too many issues or $$$ associated with them or were too far away to gamble on. This happened to be a correct complete package with a great history and was local to boot. Seemed like the perfect scenario.

The 427 is now sitting in my garage and is soon to be installed in a factory silver on silver 1966 425HP Corvette that was sold new out of Alan Green Chevrolet. I installed a 454 in this car a couple decades ago and it’s time for an upgrade.

Thanks again to Rocky and to SYC for once again putting together the pieces of a puzzle in the car world….
