Did you know . . .
The 1964 and 1965 editions of the 426 HEMI have a unique valve cover and gasket. These items are designed to fit the unique 1964 and 1965 cylinder heads and do not interchange with the far more prevalent 1966-up HEMI engines
You ask why? The answer is ............. Power Steering. Engineers figured that many people would want it on their 426 Street Hemi. It was decided that it was cheaper to recast the drivers side head to indent it in the front to make room for the power steering pump then it was to redesign the pump itself.
