True, but the P-o-P had the VIN too; the date of assembly of the original block is less significant on a warranty replacement, as the warranty was from date of sale not the individual drivetrain assembly dates.
IIRC the P-o-P issued on change of ownership for warranty purposes didn't even contain the drivetrain codes, just the VIN.
