They don't bark but they yodel/chortle and making murder victim screaming noises when they are left alone and bored. Had neighbors call the police several times for "domestics" at our house when we had one in Florida.
Very ancient breed that goes back several thousand years, Can never be left off a leash outside, as they are extreme sight hounds and will bolt for any small critter movement a half mile away. Lots are lost to automobiles when they try to run across a road.
