My uncle passed away in 2010 so I'm not able to ask him. But just called my aunt and got the majority of the story. The Olds dealer in Omaha, NE (where my uncle lived) wasn't able to get a 442 ordered for him. Not sure why, maybe they didn't have an "allocation"? But my uncle's good friend, Dean Rawson of Omaha, owned a local car lot and knew the owner of McIntyre Olds across the river in Council Bluffs, IA, who was able to get a 442 ordered. So the car was actually ordered BY McIntyre Olds THROUGH Dean Rawson. When the delivery took place, the transaction went through Dean. Were it not for this, it sounds like he wouldn't have been able to order it.
