I bought this Camaro SS back in 1971, it had about 12K miles then. This car has been maintained, but never restored, it is a survivor. It still has the original spare in the trunk. And most of the paint is original. The smog equipment & stock exhaust manifolds were removed before I bought it.
Right now it has less than 56,000 original miles on it...for some reason eBay listing won't take that number...?
Hagerty lists value as $41,000 (plus 10% for 4 speed) just for a 'Good' car, up to $57,000 (plus 10% for 4 speed) for a excellent car. As a survivor mine is probably in the middle of these 2 values, but would not take much to make it excellent.
This is a original L78 Camaro, only 600 were made, and this engine was available for only this year, the 402ci 375hp version.
The Z stripes are dealer optioned and I have a copy of the original dealer sticker from the dealer to document this. (this is most likely the only L78 with dealer optioned stripes!)
It has been converted to electronic ignition, but I have the original distributor. I have a couple of the original rally wheels (and a spare set), the original clutch fan (I have a solid plastic on it now)
And I have the stainless rocker panel covers for it, they were removed to check for any rust, and I just never mounted them again. This car has never had any rust other than surface rust, which was then fixed & repainted.
Due to health issues I can not take care of this car the way it deserves, so I am looking for a new home for it.
