Not sure if that was intentional, he forgot, or just didn't know which motor it had.
He did get the guy's name right that made the modifications to the 390 motor.

There was no 427 in either of the BULLITT Mustangs . . . and if there was one - it definitely would not have been in the "hero car" which is what was presented by Ford. They were both 390s.
Chad McQueen was 8 years old when BULLITT hit theaters.
