				You can also rotate the mirror head to it's extreeme position to get access to the "inside" surface of the pivot ball. Use a automatic center punch ( Starrett ) to add a few prick marks to the ball. This will raise the surface of the ball slightly and will be just enough to tighten up the head. I have done several for friends, it seams to last too.

 BIG -- I did the exact same thing on my 67' Vette with a "floppy" mirror ... didn't say anything cuz' it looked like there was a fix taking the mirror apart.  I couldn't remember if the mirror on the 67' had that ring gizzmo on the glass ... TAZ
