I know why the hood is marketed now, but once its out there, and people get used to that look., it will be easier to reuse it to move the engine more up into it later to support a 4wd version. They could easily get more air another way by using one of the head light buckets on either side.

Here is a clip showing the monster hood...(and maybe even air entering the inner headlight locations). You got to study it a few times to see it.
