Default Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe

Ryan, don't kid yourself and compare your car and it's restoration to Grady's Camaro and the resto he and Mike performed. Nothing is similar other than they are 1969 model year cars that were restored. Mike has done more restorations than most of the hobbyist on this board. His results are equal to, or better than some high-end shops. And, Grady's car was a "peach" of a car! Reread the thread and his initial thoughts on the car.....CORROSION FREE!!! Don't expect the same results as that build.....it just isn't going to happen my friend! I'm not trying to pee on your parade, just trying to emphasize the basic facts of why that COPO looks the way it does, and why your "W-31" will be a different grade of car because of the two approaches. Think back to why you bought this car and why you are doing the work to it..........to have FUN!!! Have some FUN, do the BEST you can do with what you have to work with, and keep plugging away. The bottom side of every car is a PITA unless you have an awfully pampered car (very few are). Once that portion of the resto is finished, you'll move on to easier steps of the reconstruction. Eventually, you'll look back and laugh about how that undercoat was up your nose, in your eyes and ears, etc. Quitting is NOT AN OPTION. Like Dan keeps telling you.....just get it done!!!!
