According to CRG, 4-digit date codes started during 1973. Holley started making provision for secondary squirter boss in main body during, or after, 1970. So I'd expect the pictured carb (without such a squirter boss) to be early 1970's (1971) rather than 1981 or later, but apparently 1971 predates 4-digit dating?
